The situation
Stratum Reservoir delivers core and fluid analysis for oil and gas operators worldwide, with labs and field teams spread across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. IT had grown region by region: different service desks, different tooling, uneven monitoring, and no single view of the estate. When something broke in one location, resolving it depended on who happened to be around.
The business wanted one partner accountable for IT everywhere it operates, not a patchwork of local arrangements.
What we did
- One operating model. We defined a single service catalogue, set of SLAs, and escalation path that applies in every region, then rolled it out location by location without disrupting the labs.
- Consolidated the tooling. Standardized monitoring, endpoint management, patching, and backup on one stack, so the estate is visible and managed the same way everywhere.
- Took over the service desk. A follow-the-sun desk with 24/7 monitoring and a named delivery manager for the account.
- Security baseline. Brought identity, access, logging, and backup up to a common baseline and put recurring vulnerability management in place.
- Moved key workloads to cloud. Migrated priority applications and file services off ageing regional infrastructure into a managed cloud environment.
The result
Stratum Reservoir now has one team responsible for IT across the entire company, delivering the same standard of service in every region. Incidents follow a consistent path, the estate is reported on monthly, and there is a costed roadmap rather than a queue of local firefighting.
